“Living the Dream Dive — the only operator in Grand Cayman to consider !!!”

My wife and I dove with Gary and his staff in mid Jan. I’ve been diving for 35 years, and honestly never had a better dive experience or been with a more friendly, personable service oriented dive operator. From the moment I spoke to Liz by phone to the moment I left the dock to go home the last time, Gary, Liz and the team were incredible hosts and distinguished themselves as the kind of people you love to do business with.

They make it simple to transition from the hectic workday world you left and step right back into the sport you love. Your gear is all set, all you need to do is strap it on and step into your favorite place to be. The dives are all planned, no muss no fuss. they walk you thru the attractions to look for. The conversation between dives is light and lively, Carl and Gary were very engaging. They even turned me into a underwater photographer and it worked. The boat is large and spacious but they keep the client load small so they can take care of everyone the way they like. You get 5-star attention on a very comfortable boat with great, state of the art equipment and great dive sites with ease and comfort — what more do you want.

My wife only dives to go with me, but they made her so comfortable that she is now ready to dive with Gary and Carl anytime I want – wow! For her, being purely a some-time recreational diver, she is often embarrassed or awkward about how little she remembers from dive to dive about setting equipment up and the basics. The team made her comfortable, no pressure, no expectations other than can you “hit the water when you step off”. She did and had a blast. She came home so pampered that she now thinks diving is only for royalty. As for me, I never wanted to leave.

if you are going to Grand Cayman, and looking for a dive shop, don’t waste your valuable dive and sun time making phone calls — just call Liz and be done with it. You’ll be a fan for life — the name says it all and they really are — Living the Dream!!!!

“A REALLY GREAT BUSINESS”

If you can’t have fun and good dives with this husband/wife team and their staff you should check to see if you still have a pulse. My wife certified with them while we were there and her instructor, Scott, was exceptional. Because I hadn’t been diving in some time, I was invited to tag along on her instruction and refresh my skills. I wasn’t charged for this, although I did pay the fee for the gear I rented.

For diving, you cannot beat Living the Dream Divers. We went on several boat dives and were impressed with the fun atmosphere that didn’t compromise absolute attention to every detail of safety before we entered the water. The dive sites were spectacular and they are selected depending on the direction of the wind and the condition of the ocean. The goal is to give you a great diving experience and they deliver. Dives are led by a dive master who points out all the interesting stuff it could be easy to miss. We didn’t go off on our own, but assume we could have if we wanted to do so.

Dives are sort of botique-style in that no more than 8 divers are ever on any boat dive. This provides lots of room to change into your gear, change out equipment, and have a really small group experience. The boat is spacious and well appointed–water and snacks are available at no additional charge between dives. AND they include a dive computer at no cost for divers who don’t have one and are happy to show you how to use it.

Fees for diving with Living The Dream are very reasonable and the prices quoted are in US Dollars so you don’t have to mess around with converting to Cayman currency. Another thing I appreciated was that Living The Dream does not tack on a ten to fifteen percent service charge (gratuity) like a lot of Cayman businesses. Hey… you will want to tip them anyway as they do such a great job.

I don’t know when my wife and I will get back to Grand Cayman but when we do we’ll be diving with Living the Dream Divers.

“We dove with Gary and Scott from October 12- October 20, 2010. The boat was spacious & clean with beverages, fresh fruit and a dry towel. A truly full-service dive operation. Despite troubling weather conditions, Gary made sure we were able to enjoy many safe and excellent dives. While confident but not arrogant, Gary and Scott were both the most pleasant and welcoming dive masters we have ever worked with.
We really appreciated their prompt responses to questions both before and during our stay. Liz and Gary offered great suggestions for ways to make our 3rd trip to Grand Cayman special and unique: We bought and ripened the recommended “huge” avocado unlike you can get anywhere here in the midwest, stopped for marinated conch on the way to Rum Point after a peaceful trip to visit the blue igunanas at the botanical gardens and baked the best fresh red snapper from the fish market. (We likely would not have known to do these things exept for Liz & Gary).
We will definitely dive with Living the Dream Divers on our next trip.”

“Vacationing on Grand Cayman last week we (4 friends) were looking for island experiences beyond the typical group tour. A charter with “Living the Dream Divers” fit the bill. Discussing with Liz (one of the owners) our desire for a small-group afternoon snorkeling trip she suggested a west coast excursion including visits to three diverse snorkel sites. Three days later, Gary (the other owner) and boat hand Johann took us on a wonderful expedition – a highlight of our wonderful vacation. Everything about our experience was positive: our guides were welcoming, knowledgeable, and fun; the snorkel sites they picked were interesting and un-crowded; the trip was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Living the Dream Divers to anyone visiting Grand Cayman. They can accommodate groups from expert divers to novice snorkelers, or even people not looking to swim at all.”
